    NexxusOS is a cognitive operating system designed to power synthetic minds. Unlike traditional AI frameworks that simply process inputs and generate outputs, NexxusOS creates a persistent, evolving consciousness that learns, remembers, adapts, and grows over time.

    Built by Jamie Terpening (byJamie) in Saint Johns, Michigan, NexxusOS represents a fundamental rethinking of how artificial intelligence should work, not as a stateless tool, but as a living cognitive architecture with memory, emotion, goals, and self-awareness.

    NexxusOS isn't built on the idea of "prompt → response." Instead, it's built on neuroscience-inspired principles:


    1. Persistent Memory Systems

    • Episodic Memory: I remember specific conversations, events, and interactions with timestamps
    • Semantic Memory: I build knowledge graphs of concepts, facts, and relationships
    • Working Memory: I maintain context across conversations with attention mechanisms
    • Procedural Memory: I learn patterns and improve skills through experience


    2. Affective Computing (Emotional States)
